How to Enter

Simply design a coupon for a real or imaginary product of your choice and send it along with an official entry form and a cash register receipt which shows savings with a coupon during the month of September 1998 to the address below; OR send your coupon design to the address below along with a 3”X5” card on which you write “Coupons are Cool” and your name, address, age and phone number plus a cash register receipt which shows savings with a coupon during the month of September 1998. Date and savings amount must be circled on receipt. Coupon design may be on any type of material but may not be any larger in size than 8 1/2” X 11”. Send to:

All entries must be received by October 12, 1998. Enter as often as you like, but one entry per outer stamped envelope. Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, quality, clarity and colorfulness.

Judging will be done on or about November 1, 1998 by a panel from the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, Michigan, an independent design school, whose decisions are final. Winners will be notified by mail and/or phone. Sponsor not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries. All entries become the property of the PMA Coupon Council (sponsor) and will not be returned. Grand and Second prize winning entries will be displayed on the National Coupon Month website and may be publicized in other promotional materials and media. In the event of a tie, judges will select the entry received the earliest.

Contest open to U.S. residents up to 12 years old, except for families of the PMA Coupon Council members, NCH NuWorld, Center for Creative Studies, and their advertising and promotional agencies.

One Grand Prize Winner in the Age Category up to 7 years old will receive a $500 U.S. Savings Bond, a Deluxe Computer Software Art Package & a radio with Duracell batteries, approximate final retail value $770. One Grand Prize Winner in the Age Category 8 - 12 years old will receive a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond, a Deluxe Computer Software Art Package & a radio with Duracell batteries, approximate final retail value $1,270. One Second Prize Winner in the Age Category up to 7 years old will receive a $100 U.S. Savings Bond & a radio with Duracell batteries, approximate final retail value $120. One Second Prize Winner in the Age Category 8 - 12 years old will receive a $200 U.S. Savings Bond & a radio with Duracell batteries, approximate final retail value $220. 20 Runners Up in each age category will receive a Radio with Duracell batteries, approximate retail value $20 each.

All prizes will be awarded. No prize substitutes or cash equivalents. Prizes are not transferable prior to awarding. Parent or legal guardian of prize winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility / liability release and publicity release. Entries containing materials submitted to other contests or previously published or subject to proprietary rights of a third party(s) will be disqualified. Taxes are responsibility of winners.
